STEVEN M. BUNDSCHUH -  graduated magna cum laude from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he received his B.S. in business administration and economics and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma and Omicron Delta Epsilon, the National Business and Economics Honor Societies, respectively. In 2006, Mr. Bundschuh graduated from St. John's University School of Law with the Dean's List Graduate distinction. He was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and competed in a civil trial competition while in Law School. Mr. Bundschuh is admitted to the State Bars of New York and North Carolina; and is also admitted to practice in the Federal Courts sitting in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Eastern District of North Carolina. Mr. Bundschuh has practiced law in the areas of commercial lending and commercial real estate, pharmaceutical patent infringement, construction law, premises liability and personal injury. At Baxter Smith & Shapiro, P.C., Mr. Bundschuh specializes in the litigation of property damage and subrogation claims, construction defects and insurance coverage issues. He has handled all aspects of litigation from inception to trial, including appellate practice, in both the State and Federal Courts. Mr. Bundschuh is a member of the New York State Bar Association's Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law section; as well as, the New York Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Defense Association of New York.

HAROLD A. CAMPBELL - A 1999 graduate of Brooklyn Law School, Mr. Campbell handles the defense and trial of cases involving premises liability, construction liability, labor law, insurance coverage, municipal law, automobile, trucking liability, products liability, negligence and breach of contract cases. Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Campbell enjoyed great success during a seven-year career in the pharmaceutical division of a Fortune 100 company.

KIMBERLY A. CARPENTER- A 1989 graduate of Brooklyn Law School, Ms. Carpenter is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and Connecticut, as well as the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York and United States District Court, Southern District of New York.  Ms. Carpenter's prior experience was with two New York City defense firms.  Her fields of expertise include:  appellate practice, insurance coverage, labor law and motor vehicle defense.  Ms. Carpenter has extensive appellate experience in both the First and Second Departments.  Ms. Carpenter was a recent speaker at the 1999 New York State Bar Association Seminar on practical litigation skills.

PATRICK J. CORBETT- Mr. Corbett earned his B.S degree from Iona College, and attended Pace University School of Law, both while working full-time as a firefighter for the Yonkers, New York Fire Department. He is admitted to practice before the Bar of the State of New York, the federal Southern District of New York, the federal Eastern District of New York, the federal Western District of New York, and the federal Northern District of New York, in all of which courts he has tried over 20 cases to verdict. In addition, Mr. Corbett is admitted to practice before the federal Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the federal Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, where he has argued numerous appeals, in addition to appeals in the First and Second New York Appellate Departments. Mr. Corbett’s practice areas include defense of general commercial litigation claims, personal injury and “Jones Act” defense, first- and third-party property defense including commercial fire, water damage and warehouse claims, and opinions regarding coverage, and prosecution of marine cargo subrogation, inland marine, property and transportation claims, including failure to deliver in international, ocean, and interstate and intrastate truck and rail claims. Prior to joining Baxter Smith & Shapiro, Mr. Corbett was a partner in other prominent New York firms.

LOUIS B. DINGELDEY JR.- received his undergraduate degree from St. Bonaventure University, summa cum laude, in 1999. He received his Juris Doctorate from Columbia University School of Law in 2002. Lou has established himself as an attorney capable of handling of variety of complex and significant cases in multiple areas of litigation, including commercial litigation, negligence and insurance defense, civil rights and class action defense, debtor & creditors matters and labor & employment matters. Lou is admitted to practice in all New York State courts, all federal courts in the Western and Northern Districts of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Lou has defended and prosecuted matters on behalf of various municipal and private sector clientele. Lou is also an experienced and capable appellate practitioner, having prepared briefs in the First, Second and Fourth Departments of the New York Appellate Division as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

ANNE MARIE GARCIA - A 2001 graduate of New York Law School, Ms. Garcia served as a judicial Intern for the Honorable Louise Gruner Gans. Prior to joining Baxter Smith & Shapiro, PC, Ms. Garcia gained experience with a prominent New York City negligence defense firm. Along with her significant experience in all areas of personal injury and property damage defense, Ms. Garcia has developed a particular expertise in New York State Labor Law litigation and the complex contractual issues invariably a part of such cases. Ms Garcia is admitted to practice in the State of New York as well as the United States District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts. Ms Garcia is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of The City of New York.

JOSEPH M. GUZZARDO - A 1996 graduate of St. John's University School of Law, Mr. Guzzardo received his B.A. from SUNY Binghamton in 1993. Prior to joining BAXTER SMITH & SHAPIRO, he spent several years with a prominent, Manhattan defense firm where he focused on the litigation, trial and appeals of construction, automobile and premises liability cases. Mr. Guzzardo's notable jury verdicts, routinely published in the Reporters, have solidified his reputation as a well-respected trial attorney. Mr. Guzzardo also handles a wide range of real estate matters, including residential and commercial transactions, and prosecution and defense of title claims. Mr. Guzzardo is admitted to practice in the States of New York and New Jersey, and the United States District Court, in the Eastern, Southern and New Jersey Districts.

 

Adam Haenel EsqADAM P. HAENEL – A 2005 graduate of Syracuse University College of Law, Mr. Haenel earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Syracuse University, where he received his B.A. in philosophy.  He is admitted to the New York Bar. Haenel has experience practicing in the areas of criminal defense, labor law, general negligence, automobile and premises liability.  Prior to joining Baxter Smith & Shapiro P.C., Mr. Haenel worked in Manhattan for the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division. 

 

MARGOT L. LUDLAM - A 1994 graduate of Pace University Law School, Ms. Ludlam earned her B.A. from SUNY Binghamton in 1991. Prior to joining BSS Ms. Ludlam established herself as a noted attorney in the litigation and trial of complex and mass tort cases. She spent several years at a prominent Manhattan defense firm where she handled all facets of defense litigation, from inception to trial, in the areas of general negligence, medical malpractice, product liability and labor law. Thereafter, Ms. Ludlam was hired as in-house counsel at American International Group, Inc., where she managed litigation in the environmental claims/toxic tort unit on behalf of Fortune 500 companies. While at AIG, Ms Ludlam supervised outside counsel, performed comprehensive exposure risk assessments and analyzed multi-state insurance coverage issues. She evaluated the extent of the claimed contamination/exposure as a result of the insured’s activities and conducted roundtable presentations as necessary to prepare for trial or settlement of multi-million dollar of claims.  Thereafter, Ms. Ludlam joined another prominent defense firm where she maintained a broad base of complex civil defense matters on behalf of large-scale corporate clients and insurance carriers in the areas of products liability, general negligence, auto, and premises liability, with a concentration in toxic tort and asbestos defense. Ms. Ludlam has handled numerous mass-tort litigations. At Baxter Smith & Shapiro, PC Ms. Ludlam is involved in the litigation and trial of complex, high exposure matters involving product liability, toxic tort, construction, coverage and commercial issues. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Court, in the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts.

Timothy P. ManningTIMOTHY P. MANNING -graduated from Salve Regina University in 2006 while earning his undergraduate degree in the Administration of Justice. Mr. Manning is a 2010 graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he served on the Competition Committee of the Moot Court Board, and earned the honor of top advocate for the first-year criminal procedure competition. He is admitted to the New York State Bar. Prior to joining Baxter Smith & Shapiro, P.C., Mr. Manning gained experience in the field of workers’ compensation.

VALERIE NIEVES-SIRAGUSA - she earned her BA from Syracuse University in 1995 and her JD from Hofstra University Law School in 1998. Upon graduating law school, Mrs. Nieves-Siragusa began working for The City of New York Corporation Counsel’s Office in their Torts Division. While with the City of New York, she gained extensive experience in defending trip/slip and falls, automobile accidents and negligent supervision cases from pre-trial up to trial. She also litigated over ten jury trials to verdict in Supreme Court, Kings County on behalf of the City. Joining BSS in 2002, Mrs. Nieves-Siragusa has continued to utilize her defense knowledge representing clients in a variety of tort matters. She is admitted in the State Courts of New York since 1999.

TIMOTHY O'MEARA -  A 2009 graduate of Touro Law School, Mr. O’Meara earned his B.S. from St. John’s University in 2002. Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. O’Meara served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps, including two tours of duty in Iraq. Prior to joining Baxter Smith & Shapiro, PC, Mr. O’Meara was a judicial intern for the Honorable Timothy J. Dufficy. Mr. O’Meara is admitted to the State Courts of New York. Mr. O’Meara has experience practicing in the areas of labor law, general negligence, automobile and premises liability.

MELISSA ANN PERROTTA - Ms. Perrotta is a 2004 graduate of Touro Law School where she served as the Competition Editor of the Moot Court Board. She earned her B.A. from SUNY Albany in 2001. Ms. Perrotta is admitted to the State Court of New York as well as the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Prior to joining BSS, Ms. Perrotta spent several years working for a large insurance defense firm in Manhattan handling a variety of general negligence cases as well as labor law and aviation matters. At BSS, Ms. Perrotta handles general negligence matters including motor vehicle, premises liability and property damage cases. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

TUERE' T. RODRIGUEZ - attended the University of Maryland, College Park for her undergraduate degree in Economics on an academic and athletic scholarship. At the age of 21, Ms. Rodriguez was admitted to Howard University School of Law to continue Howard’s 140-year legacy of legal and social justice. While at Howard she worked for a prominent New York City law firm in the areas of Mass Tort and Asbestos Litigation. Upon graduation she began working for the New York City Transit Authority, Torts Division. Ms. Rodriguez handles the defense of cases involving premises and automobile liability.

Jennifer Warycha JENNIFER A. WARYCHA - A 2005 graduate of New York Law School, Ms. Warycha earned her B.A. from SUNY Binghamton in 2002. Ms. Warycha is admitted to practice in the State of New York, as well as the District Court in the Southern District. Upon graduating law school, Ms. Warycha began working for The Corporation Counsel for the City of Yonkers, where she mainly handled civil rights and torts cases. Prior to joining, Baxter Smith & Shapiro P.C., Ms. Warycha worked for a prominent New York defense firm where she handled all facets of litigation in the areas of general negligence, labor law, products liability, as well as some commercial liability and medical malpractice. Joining BSS in the summer of 2010, Ms. Warycha has continued to be an advocate for our clients involved in all facets of tort litigation.
